GeoSyntec Consultants 0 <br />• Testing the relative compaction and water content of each lift of clay liner <br />material at the frequency shown in Table 3; where field density tests or water <br />contents fail to meet specified values, notify the Contractor to rework the area <br />or remove the failing material. <br />• Observing the type of equipment and number of passes used in compaction and <br />verifying that each lift of earth material has been properly handled and <br />compacted per the Project Specifications. <br />• Identifying any material changes. <br />• Observing the compacted clay for desiccation cracking. <br />• Test the relative compaction of the vegetative layer at the frequency shown in <br />Table 4. <br />• Reviewing the Contractor's construction surveys to check minimum layer <br />thicknesses and drainage grades. <br />• Inspecting pipe trench backfill activities <br />• Testing relative compaction of pipe zone and trench backfill materials per <br />Tables 5 and 6. <br />5.2.3 Geocomposite Drainage Layer <br />The duties of the CQA Team during placement of the geocomposite drainage layer <br />(GDL) are to: <br />• Verify that GDL panels are deployed and joined in accordance with the Project <br />Plans and Specifications. <br />• Confirm that all defect locations have been marked and that the Contractor and <br />the CQA Officer have been informed of any required repairs. <br />• All repairs are completed in accordance with the Project Specifications and <br />recorded on geocomposite drainage layer repair forms. <br />]:\ALLIED\FORWARD\CLOSURE\REPORrCQA REPORT 5-4 99.11.30 <br />
