4. Coordination of schedules:
A. Forward will complete subgrade for the ash pit by tomorrow. Forward is filling
the area to the southeast of the ash pit with trash.
B. Guinn suggested cutting some soil out of the leachate impoundment if there is
a need for soil on the road along the south side of the ash pit.
C. Forward thinks that they could have the trash and cover in the southeast side
by the middle of next week.
D. Guinn's surveyors can survey that area last.
E. Scott will check to see if samples of HDPE have been sent to Vector for direct
shear testing. Ben will obtain samples of clay admix for the direct shear
testing next week. Guinn will complete survey on the ash pit by June 15.
F. Guinn will finish clay on the 18tl" and survey results will be provided by the
24th. On the 28th, the floor will be ready for HDPE liner.
G. GSE can start the slopes such that they are complete by the 28th and be
ready for the floor.
H. Scott will coordinate with GSE to schedule when GSE will arrive on-site.
I. GSE can start as early as June 15 on the slopes and ash pit.
J. The road along the south side of the ash pit will be ready for Guinn to work on
by next Wednesday.
Field s i s, problems, conflicts, and changes:
A. Grain size testing by Vector on the drainage rock is failing the specifications.
About 8% is retained on the 1-inch sieve and there is supposed to be 100%
on the 1-inch sieve. Guinn will provide additional samples to Vector for
testing.
B. The first bench around the cell has aggregate base and chip seal on it about
1-foot thick. Guinn needs to remove this material. They need to maintain the
same slope (2%) into the cell, but don't need to build it back. The surveyors
can survey it before and after to get quantities. Vector will observe the
removal of the material. Butch will provide a stockpile location to Guinn so
that they can utilize the material.
C. There is an existing leachate pipe in the south slope of cell 99. This should
be cut out about 2 feet and soil placed and compacted back into the slope.
D. The main leachate line along the west side of the cell will be cut and capped
by Guinn.
6. Problems which impede the construction schedule and corrective measures:
No problems impeding schedule.
n:/986011.01/Weekly Progress Meetings/05-25-99 Meeting 1.doc Page 3
