1. Comments from previous meeting:
A. Gravel samples were delivered to Ben for additional testing. He tested them
for gradation and they passed. Vector's laboratory is currently testing the
material for permeability.
B. Guinn submitted their first progress payment to Vector, who reviewed it and
sent it on to Kevin Basso with Forward.
2. Review of work progress since previous meeting:
A. Clay from Narco was mixed with on-site soils and compacted into the cell.
B. Guinn is a little bit short on clay and will be using GCL in the sump.
C. Along the south side of the new unit, Guinn will place some extra clay to
transition into the slope. This clay will be obtained from the bottom of the
stockpile. Vector will sample this material to determine if it is suitable. Since
the GCL is coming down the slope 5 feet from the toe, it will cover this clay
along the south berm.
D. Forward finished the ash pit subgrade placement and it was surveyed by
DeWalt.
E. The south road along the ash pit was changed to fit the field conditions.
Guinn has placed fill along the road, but has not completed the final grading.
F. The anchor trenches for the liner have been cut by Guinn.
G. Some HDPE and geocomposite have been delivered.
H. The surveyor will be here tomorrow to as-built the clay liner, sump, and south
roadway.
I. For the road along the south side of the ash pit, a one-foot "V" ditch will be
installed east of the edge of the ash pit.
J. The existing base rock around the D-99 cell was removed and stockpiled.
K. The access ramp was completed.
L. The western termination of the south ash pit road will be field fitted to
maintain drainage.
3. Projected schedule:
A. Guinn provided copies of the updated construction schedule.
B. Surveyors will be here tomorrow. Results on the clay as-built should be
available by Friday. The results will be sent to Vector.
C. The liner installer should have a full crew by next Monday.
D. Guinn will continue to moisture-condition the clay liner until it is covered by
liner.
E. GSE will mobilize over this weekend and will be ready to go on Monday.
F. GSE will start on the floor of the D-99 cell and get the clay covered first.
n:/986011.01/Weekly Progress Meetings/06-22-99 Meeting 3.doc Page 2
