Smoking shall be prohibited at or in the vicinity of <br />operations which constitute a fire hazard and shall be <br />conspicuously posted: " No Smoking or Open Flame." <br />The Fire Protection Plan for the Forward is included in <br />Appendix FP -1. <br />3 HOUSEKEEPING AND CLEAN-UP <br />A. Regular clean-up of scrap material, dust rags, oil, <br />paint, grease, flammable solvents and other residue of <br />building and vehicle maintenance activities will be <br />simultaneously removed.to reduce fire hazard and <br />promote general safety. <br />B. All work areas shall,,be-cleared of combustible <br />materials before hazardous and waste materials are <br />delivered. <br />C. All work areas shall be maintained free of accumulation <br />of debris. <br />D. Area beneath trailers 'and- withim 10 -feet of buildings <br />shall be free of accumulation of debris, vegetation or <br />any other combustibles. <br />E. All rags, waste, etc., soiled by combustible or <br />flammable materials shall be placed in closed metal <br />containers for disposal. <br />4 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS <br />A. A fire extinguisher rated not less than 10:ABC shall be <br />provided for each 3,000 square feet of the protected <br />building area or major fraction thereof. Travel <br />distance from any point of protected area to the <br />nearest fire extinguisher shall not exceed 100 feet. <br />B. One or more fire extinguishers rated not less than <br />10:ABC shall be provided on each floor. In multi -story <br />buildings, at least one fire extinguisher shall be <br />located adjacent to each stairway. <br />FP -2 <br />
