10 LIQUIFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LP GAS) <br />A. Approval of Equipment and Systems <br />1. Each system shall have containers, valves, <br />connectors, manifold valve assemblies, and <br />regulators of an approved type. <br />2. Connections to container, except safety relief <br />connections, liquid level gauging devices and <br />plugged openings shall have shutoff valves located <br />as close to the container as practical. <br />B. Welding - welding on gas cylinders is prohibited. <br />C. Safety Devices <br />1. Every container and every vaporizer shall .be <br />provided with one or more approved safety relief <br />valves or devices. These valves shall...be.arranged <br />to afford free vent to outer air. <br />2. Shutoff valves shall not be installedbetweene <br />safety - device and the LP .. <br />11 TEMPORARY HEATING DEVICES <br />A. All boilers, stoves, and other temporary heating <br />apparatus shall be installed and operated in accordance <br />with applicable National Fire Codes. <br />B. When heaters are used in confined space, special care <br />shall be taken to provide sufficient ventilation in <br />order to ensure proper combustion, maintain health and <br />safety, and limit temperature rise in the area. <br />C. Safe operating procedures for temporary heating devices <br />shall be established to assure the following controls: <br />1. Heaters shall rest on suitable insulating material <br />and shall not be set directly on combustible <br />material. <br />2. Safe clearance from combustible material. <br />3. Close surveillance - Salamanders and similar open <br />flame heaters without an automatic shutoff device <br />0 FP -7 <br />
