4.0 MEETINGS <br />In order to facilitate construction of the final cover system, close coordination between <br />the Project/Construction Manager, Landfill Engineer, Geotechnical CQA Consultant, <br />Contractor (including appropriate Subcontractors) and Geotechnical CQA personnel is <br />essential. To this end, the following meetings are typically scheduled: <br />4.1 PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETINGS <br />A Pre -construction Meeting will be held at the site. At a minimum, the meeting <br />should be attended by the Owner (or designated representative), the Construction <br />Manager, the Landfill Engineer, the Geotechnical CQA Consultant (or designated <br />representative), the Contractor and appropriate Geotechnical CQA staff. <br />In addition to the typical contract related agenda items, the following CQA <br />specific items may also be reviewed: <br />• Any appropriate modifications to the Geotechnical CQA requirements. <br />• Development of a format for site specific documentation. <br />• Review of the CQA responsibilities of each individual or firm. <br />• Review of the lines of CQA authority and communication. <br />Review of work area security and safety protocol. <br />Review of the procedures for CQA project documentation and reporting, and <br />distribution of documents and reports. <br />Review of procedures for CQA submittals. <br />o Review of the Contractor's proposed methods of construction, (including <br />equipment), with specific emphasis on the methods of select grading, soil <br />mixing, stockpiling, processing, moisture conditioning and compaction. <br />Review of the procedures -for field and laboratory CQA testing. <br />Establishment of procedures for correcting and documenting construction <br />deficiencies. <br />• Conducting an initial site inspection to discuss work areas, stockpile areas, <br />mixing tables, laydown°°areas,­access�roads, haul roads, and relateditems. <br />The meeting shall be documented 'by the Construction Manager and minutes shall <br />be distributed to all parties. <br />4.2 PROGRESS MEETINGS <br />Progress Meetings shall be held in accordance with the Project Specifications. At <br />a minimum, these meetings should be attended by the Owner (or designated <br />representative), the Construction Manager, the Geotechnical CQA Officer and/or <br />the Geotechnical CQA Monitors, and the Contractor. Progress meetings shall be <br />documented by the Construction Manager or his/her representative and minutes <br />shall be distributed to all parties.
