Other nonferrous
metals will be stored in clean 50 gallon steel or cardboard drums.
Aluminum will be separated out and stored in lockable, reusable 72"
x 42" x 42" bins.
Recyclable Materials Transfer Operations
During recyclables transfer operations no separation or sorting of recyclables is
performed. The route trucks hauling the mixed recyclables unload inside the
RRF transfer building and then the materials are loaded onto large transfer trucks
for hauling to a permitted recycler.
3.1.5.2 STORAGE OF SALVAGED OR RECYCLED MATERIALS
Storage of salvaged or recycled materials is performed in accordance with 14 CCR,
Section 17409.3(d). There is no long-term storage of recyclable materials at the RRF.
During the recyclables transfer operation, no materials will be stored onsite. The
materials will be loaded onto large transfer trucks and hauled the same day to a
permitted recycler.
When the recyclables sorting operation is ongoing, the segregated materials are
categorized and processed according to the most economical secondary market value.
The other recyclables (cardboard, all grades of paper, etc.) are separated and
temporarily stored on site until sold at market.
Forward,Inc.Resource Recovery Facility 3-8
Transfer/Processing Report
(L:\Allied\2003.0146\Report\Final TPR\Sec3.doc:10/22/03;Revision 1: 11/20/200344f)
®RYAN A.STIRRAT&.ASSOCIATES
