(GSE superintendent)in the early morning to discuss the possible geosynthetic clay liner(GCL)deployment schedule. He began placing sandbags along the west slope of the cell but it began to rain. He stated that the crew would probably be sent off site until Monday,but he will be on site tomorrow to check subgrade and weather and call me in the morning if they were going to deploy. A representative of the Water Board was on site to perform visual recon on the five to one(5:1)slope in order to make a determination on weather or not the GCL could be placed with an overlap or horizontal seam. Earthworks operations continued with one(1)scraper hauling minor amounts of excess clay from the windrows generated by the blade that continued to finish cut the clay on the cell floor. The D6 dozer graded and widened the access road into the cell that will be used for general truck access. The backhoe and smooth drum roller cleaned and prepared the west toe of slope in the FU-03 cell in preparation for tomorrow's liner deployment. The 140H blade began finish cutting the leachate pond floor but blew a hydraulic hose in the late morning and was down for the afternoon. Review of the roll certifications of the sixteen-ounce(16oz), eight-ounce(8oz) geotextile and the geonet continued as time permitted.
