He stated that no work would be done. GSE arrived on site and began
performing repairs, patches and air testing on the material deployed on Saturday. Their forklift was parked
on the cell floor over the weekend and could not be moved, without damaging the clay placed, until the clay
dried. After a slight drying of the clay, air and vacuum box testing, repairs and destructive sample cutting,
they began to place geocomposite. The material was placed over the 60 mil placed on Saturday. Sandbags
were placed on and under the west toe of slope liner of the cell to protect the GCL beneath.
Two(2)destructive samples were marked for testing at random locations. GSE cut the samples; their
portions were tested and were within specification. At the end of the day, the two remaining portions of the
destructs were given to Vector and Forward. One will be tested tomorrow and the other archived by
Forward personnel. The superintendent for GSE stated that they would probably not deploy tomorrow but
would check on the clay along the west toe of slope in the morning and on the status of the lechate pond
with Butch S.
Quartaroli Surveying was on site in the late afternoon to shoot the lechate pond floor.
One(1)truck arrived on site with the eight-ounce(8oz) geotextile for the access road.
AOL
Prepared By: Reviewed By:
4/23/03,Rev. 0 1 of 1
r_9
