Guinn
Construction continued using the scrapers to haul clay from the southern and central cut areas throughout
the day. Seven (7) scrapers continued placing fill material from west to east. One dozer, one of the water
trucks and the sheepsfoot rollers also worked on the north slope fill area. The other water trucks moisture
conditioned the haul roads and the cut area behind the other dozer. Verification of the depth of the clay
cover was performed in the afternoon with the Guinn supervisor. The backhoe excavated trenches on a 75 -
foot square grid and down to refuse. The excavations were then measured to confirm the 4 -foot clay
thickness. All excavations yielded results that confirmed that the proper thickness had been achieved.
Twenty-one (21) nuclear moisture density tests were performed at random locations and elevations on the
north slope fill area. All tests passed the specified values in density and moisture content and the on site
foreman was verbally infonned of the test results. Monte Christie was on site to review project progress,
scheduling, conduct BAT testing, and to pick up the samples for off site testing. Sample numbers P-15, P-
16 and P-17 were transported to the Vector laboratory for penneability testing.
GSE completed placing the 60 mil HDPE liner on the upper bench of the 3:1 slope of the FU -05 cell and
began placing the twelve -ounce (12 oz) cushion geotextile.
The pipeline crew continued to relocate the gas line at the eastern portion of the toe of the northern slope.
Prepared By:
4/23/03, Rev. 0 1 of 1
C-2
Reviewed By: 146'
