WMU FU-06 November 2006 <br /> Forward Landfill Project No.021605.07 <br /> 2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 40 <br /> 2.1 Project Components— WMU FU-06 <br /> The Central Portion of WMU FU-06 encompasses approximately 13.5 acres, which <br /> includes approximately 5.5 acres of side-slope and 8.0 acres of floor area. WMU <br /> FU-06 ties into the western side of the existing WMU FU-05. Components of WMU <br /> FU-06 are the same as constructed for WMU FU-05. The composite liner <br /> components from both WMU FU-05 and FU-06 were joined together to provide a <br /> continuous composite liner system. The composite liner system installed within the <br /> Central Portion of the WMU FU-06 area consists of the following components (from <br /> top to bottom): <br /> FLOOR BOTTOM <br /> • 1-foot thick protective operations layer; <br /> • 7 oz/yd2 filter geotextile; <br /> • 1-foot thick granular drainage layer with LCRS trenches with <br /> HDPE pipe and coarse gravel encapsulated with 7-oz/yd2 <br /> geotextile; <br /> • 12 oz/yd2 cushion geotextile; <br /> • 60-mil thick double-sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br /> • 2-foot thick clay liner; and <br /> • Prepared subgrade. <br /> 2:1 SIDESLOPES <br /> • 1-foot thick protective operations layer (placed 10 feet vertically <br /> up the slope, the remaining material will be placed during <br /> operations); <br /> • 60-mil thick single-sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br /> • Geosynthetic clay liner (GCL); and <br /> • Prepared subgrade. <br /> • <br /> Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valley,CA 95945•(530)272-2448 <br /> -2- <br />
