WMU FU-05 November 2006
Forward Landfill Project No.021605.07
The seam overlap, seaming, tie-ins, and other manufacturer's written guidelines
were followed. Vector's CQA Monitor observed that the components of the
geocomposite (geotextile-geonet) were not bonded at the edges of the rolls to allow
for the geonet ties.
5.5.5 Repair
The materials were checked for defects during deployment and holes or tears were
identified and repaired prior to placement of the cover materials.
5.6 Geogrid
5.6.1 General
A geogrid was used as a reinforcement layer on the bench area to support the
overlying liner section.
5.6.2 Receiving Inspection
Upon arrival by truck shipment, Vector's CQA Monitor observed the unloading and
storage of the geogrid rolls. A sample of the geogrid was tested for tensile
properties (ASTM D6637). A copy of the geogrid conformance testing data is
included in Appendix O.
5.6.3 Deployment
The geogrid deployment procedure was observed and documented by Vector's CQA
Monitor. The CQA Monitor observed that the conditions of the CQA manual were
met during deployment. Vector's CQA monitor observed that proper seam overlap,
seaming, tie-ins, and other manufacturer's written guidelines were followed.
Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valley, CA 95945•(530)272-2448
-36-
