During operating hours, landfill personnel monitor and control access.
Landfill gates are closed and locked securely when the landfill is closed. in
addition, fences separate the designated ACW disposal area from the rest of the
landfill. Site personnel are trained in the
proper use of protective gear and are fit tested for the respirator by the respirator's
manufacturer or a certified representative. The employees receive initial and
annual medical examinations to comply with OSHA Standards for possible
exposure to asbestos and to determine their capability to perform required duties
and wear a respirator.
