WMU FU-08 October 2008 <br /> Forward Landfill Project No.021605.08 <br /> 2.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> 2.1 Project Components— WMU FU-08 <br /> WMU FU-08 encompasses approximately 13.5 acres, which includes approximately <br /> 3 acres of side-slope and 10.5 acres of floor area. WMU FU-08 ties into the eastern <br /> side of the southern portion of the existing WMU FU-06. Components of WMU FU- <br /> 08 are the same as constructed for WMU FU-06. The composite liner components <br /> from both WMU FU-06 and FU-08 were Joined together to provide a continuous <br /> composite liner system. The composite liner system installed within the WMU FU- <br /> 08 area consists of the following components (from top to bottom): <br /> FLOOR BOTTOM <br /> • 1-foot thick protective operations layer; <br /> • 7 oz/yd2 filter geotextile; <br /> • 1-foot thick granular drainage layer with LCRS trenches with <br /> HDPE pipe and coarse gravel encapsulated with 7-oz/yd2 <br /> geotextile; <br /> • 12 oz/yd2 cushion geotextile; <br /> • 60-mil thick double-sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br /> • 2-foot thick low permeability soil liner (LPSL); and <br /> • Prepared subgrade. <br /> 2:1 SIDESLOPES <br /> • 1-foot thick protective operations layer (to be placed 10 feet <br /> vertically up the slope, the remaining material will be placed <br /> during operations); <br /> • Geocomposite drainage material; <br /> • 60-mil thick single-sided textured HDPE geomembrane; <br /> • Geosynthetic clay liner (GCL); and <br /> • Prepared subgrade. <br /> Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive•Grass Valley,CA 95945•(530)272-2448 <br /> -2- <br />
