April 8, 2014 <br />Current Status: Safety procedures at the site follow the Workplace Injury <br />and Illness Prevention Plan. Monthly inspections are performed by the site <br />supervisor and the County of San Joaquin, Environmental Health <br />Department (the Local Enforcement Agency). <br />Employee safety meetings are held weekly. Employees are provided and <br />required to wear personal protective gear. <br />s. 86 (K.5) <br />Proposed as Part of the Project: <br />Refuse will be compacted and covered as soon as possible after <br />deposition to reduce amounts of blowing litter. <br />Daily inspection will be conducted to control litter on- and off-site, including <br />the North and South Branches of the South Fork of Little Johns Creek, <br />approach roads, entrance facilities, the transfer station/resource recovery <br />facility, portable litter control fences, landfill perimeter fence, leachate <br />impoundments, and storm water facilities including ditches, berms, and <br />detention/sedimentation basins. The project sponsor will collect and <br />deposit on-site litter on a daily basis. Portable litter collection fences will <br />be installed as required to prohibit wind-blown litter from accumulating <br />along roadways or around buildings. In accordance with San Joaquin <br />County Ordinance No. 28870, adopted September 29, 1981, tarps will be <br />placed over open loads to avoid littering during transport of waste (Title 5 <br />Health and Sanitation, Division 2. Solid Waste Collection and Disposal, <br />Section 5-2502). <br />Current Status: Wastes are compacted as soon as feasible following <br />placement and cover is placed on a daily basis. Forward crews control on <br />and off-site litter on a daily basis in accordance with Forward's Litter <br />Management Program. Portable litter collection fences are used, when <br />necessary.
