The County franchisee currently hauls directly to the Harney
Lane Landfill and is expected to haul directly to the new site
in Alternative A.1. For the other alternatives, the assumed
destination of the County franchisee is as follows:
Alternative A.2 - Proposed new Harney Lane Landfill
Alternative C.1 - Foothill Landfill
Alternatives C.2, D.2 - Proposed Eight Mile Road/
Highway 99 transfer station
Alternative D.1 - Proposed central county landfill
The County franchisee could reduce collection and haul costs
for all alternatives if it used the California Waste Removal
System's transfer station (see section on sensitivity analysis
below). However, the effect on total costs to the franchisee
is not known because disposal fees at the California Waste
Removal System's transfer station are not known and would have
to be negotiated. Further consideration of this effect is
beyond the scope of this report.
12
