Other Possible Measures <br />• Periodic collection of fugitive litter should be implemented as neces- <br />sary to protect the visual appearance of the area. <br />LAND USE <br />Measures Proposed by Applicant <br />• None proposed at this time. <br />Other Possible Measures <br />• Relocation of the landfill from the proposed site to an alternative <br />site having no residences immediately adjacent to it. <br />• Compensation be made to those property owners having residences immed- <br />iately adjacent to the proposed site, to compensate for reduce property <br />values. <br />• A land trade between the County and the property owners having residences <br />immediately adjacent to the proposed site, as compensation for reduced <br />property values, nuisance factors, and/or impaired ability to sell their <br />property. <br />TRANSPORTATION/CIRCULATION <br />Measures Proposed by Applicant <br />• In general terms, to improve Harney Lane, as necessary, to handle the <br />antici.pated increased traffic to the proposed site. <br />Specific Measures Which Sould be Considered <br />• Strengthening Harney Lane, either by re -surfacing or reconstructing <br />the road, to accommodate the heavier truck traffic. <br />• Widening Harney Lane to 36 feet, including paved shoulders, to accom- <br />odate truck traffic and to allow a safe mix of truck and auto traffic. <br />• At the westbound approach to the landfill site, include a left turn <br />lane into the site, to avoid queing of traffic and to minimize the <br />possibility of rear -end collisions. <br />5,1- <br />
