Cl <br />H. Objectives. <br />® Following are specific objectives based on the County's <br />exist, or if new special waste types are generated in the <br />County, additional objectives will be adopted as necessary. <br />Short-term and Medium-term Objectives: <br />1. To continue diversion of those special wastes which can <br />be recycled or transformed in order to conserve landfill <br />space and reduce the landfilling of materials which are <br />difficult to handle. <br />2. To monitor existing programs for disposal of special <br />wastes in the jurisdiction in order to be aware of and <br />respond to any changes or reductions in those programs. <br />3 <br />To ,monitor the waste stream at the County disposal sites <br />for additional special wastes which might result from the <br />start up of new businesses or other factors in the <br />jurisdiction. <br />M. Existing Conditions Description: <br />A. Waste Types Currently Diverted: <br />Several diversion programs currently exist for a <br />wide range of special wastes. Table 6 - 2 lists the <br />Chapter 6 - Special Wastes 3 <br />current special waste stream and existing <br />diversion <br />activities. The County receives <br />very few special <br />wastes at <br />its landfills at this time in <br />that there are other <br />diversion <br />or disposal options for these <br />materials within the <br />County or <br />in nearby jurisdictions. If <br />any of these options <br />cease to <br />exist, or if new special waste types are generated in the <br />County, additional objectives will be adopted as necessary. <br />Short-term and Medium-term Objectives: <br />1.
