considered special wastes that pose a disposal <br />problem. <br />2. Hydrocarbon Contaminated Soils: <br />These soils are now accepted, after testing, <br />at the Forward, Inc. class II landfill. A facility <br />has been operating in Stockton which incinerates <br />this material, burning off the hydrocarbons and <br />rendering the soil uncontaminated. That plant is <br />in the process of getting repermitted and its <br />Stockton facility should be operational again in <br />1992. <br />3. Asbestos: <br />In San Joaquin County, asbestos is accepted at <br />the Forward, Inc. Landfill, a private class II <br />landfill in the City of Stockton. No recycling <br />programs for asbestos have been identified for the <br />material being removed from buildings in the area. <br />4. Shipboard and Port Waste: <br />This waste classification is not applicable in <br />the San Joaquin County unincorporated area. <br />S. Used Oil: <br />Used oil is considered a household hazardous <br />waste material and is dealt with in the Household <br />Hazardous Waste Element. <br />Chapter 6 - Special Wastes 12 <br />
