4_2 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE AND GOOD HOUSEKEEPING <br /> SWPPP requires the conveyance storm systems (berms and ditches) be inspected <br /> monthly during the dry season and weekly during the rainy season. Any <br /> r` obstructions, damaged control structures, or debris observed during inspection <br /> i' are to be removed or repaired promptly. Spilled or leaked materials that could <br /> be transported by storm water are also removed, and the source of the spill or <br /> leak is to be eliminated. <br /> Equipment maintenance schedules shall be designed to ensure that site- <br /> associated equipment is operating correctly, minimizing potential spills, <br /> leaks and upset occurrences. Additional maintenance is conducted as needed <br /> when equipment malfunctions are observed. <br /> Vehicle fueling is performed at the fueling area. All vehicles are washed at a <br /> designated wash down area. <br /> f a <br /> General housekeeping and cleaning activities shall be performed daily. Any non <br /> recyclable papers, bags, and small plastic container or materials are picked <br /> up by the end of the day. Litter net fences are kept around the working module <br /> and landfill perimeter at all times. <br /> 4.3 SPILL PREVENTION AND RESPONSE <br /> Since only non hazardous materials are accepted, chance of pollution is <br /> minimal if spills do occur. If any spills occur, landfill personnel are to <br /> take the following actions to supplement the procedures to be used in the site <br /> Hazardous Materials Management Plan (see Appendix B) : <br /> 1) Immediately close off the spill area, the spill is bermed to <br /> prevent contact with any storm drain trenches nearby. <br /> r 9 <br />
