SECTION 11551 FLARE STATION LANDFILL GAS BLOWER PART 1 GENERAL 1.01 SUMMARY A. The Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and material for the completion of the work of this section. B. The work of this Section includes but is not limited to providing and installing a gas blower skid assembly. 1.02 SUBMITTALS A. The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer manufacturer specifications and data including blower model number, blower efficiency, horsepower, motor efficiency, guard assembly details, and inlet and outlet connection details. B. The manufacturer of the . gas blower shall submit in writing that the blower's performance is in accordance with the specifications. A copy of written verification shall be submitted to the Engineer by the Contractor. PART 2 MATERIALS 2.01 MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONS A. General - The blower shall be songle stage centrifugal type with metal housing. The blower shall be manufactured by New York Blower, Aerovent or approved equal. - B. Material Selection - Materials and protective coatings in contact with LFG shall be compatible with wet carbon dioxide gas, Iight organic acids and hydrogen sulfide up to 150 PPM. Set screws, keys, etc., in the gas cavity shall be stainless steel. No yellow metal shall be used for landfill gas service. Blower body shall be steel. C. Impellers - Impellers shall be made of aluminum. Impeller tip speed shall not exceed 500 feet per second (ft/sec.) at maximum rotational frequency. Vibration shall not exceed 1.5 mils in any direction. Blower Drive - The blower shall be belt driven. The drive assembly shall be rated for 150% of the required horsepower. The drive shall be completely covered with a guard complying with pertinent OSHA standards.
