A. PVC pipe and fittings in the wells shall be Schedule 80 PVC. <br />2.02 LOW PERM SEALS <br />A. Low Permeability Seals shall be used to seal wells according to the Contract <br />Drawings. Low perm seals shall be constructed by mixing bentonite with <br />soil in a ratio of at least 50 percent bentonite. 100% bentonite, seals may be <br />used. Bentonite shall be "Aquagel 200 mesh as manufactured by Baroid or <br />approved equal. Pelletized or flaked bentonite may also be used, subject to <br />approval by the Engineer. Seals shall be hydrated in the borehole as directed <br />by the Engineer. <br />2.03 PERFORATION DIMENSIONS <br />A. The perforation dimensions and the length of the perforated pipes in the <br />vertical extraction wells shall be as shown on the Contract Drawings or an <br />approved alternative slot pattern with equal area provided it is approved by <br />the Engineer. <br />2.04 BACKFILL AROUND THE PERFORATED PIPE <br />A. Marble, calcium carbonate or other similar chemically reactive stone shall <br />not be used. <br />B. Material shall be handled such that no degradation and segregation of the <br />material occurs. <br />North County LFG Collection System 3 VERTICAL LFG WELLS <br />San Joaquin County Public Works Section 13901 <br />1.05 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Submit information on pipe fittings and bentonite. <br />B. Submit complete detailed well logs. <br />C.
