7 <br />C. All materials shall be suitably packed and properly protected for outdoor storage. <br />Pipe ends shall be covered. <br />PART 2 MATERIALS <br />2.01 HDPE PIPING AND FITTINGS <br />A. HDPE pipe shall conform to the requirements of ASTM D-2239-85 of the <br />Standard Specifications. <br />B. All landfill gas piping and fittings outside of the flare station shall be made from a <br />polyethylene resin Type 3408 except where called out otherwise on the Drawings. <br />HDPE pipe shall be protected against U.V. degradation from exposure to the sun. <br />C. Nominal pipe sizes of 3 inches or greater shall be SDR 17 with a pressure rating <br />of 100 psi at 73.4 F. <br />D. Nominal i sizes under 3 inches shall be SDR 11 with a pressure rating of 200 <br />pipe P g <br />psi at 73.4 F. <br />E. HDPE fittings shall be of a material which is compatible with the pipe for the <br />purpose of fusion welding and shall be free from cracks, holes, foreign intrusions, <br />voids, or other defects. The minimum "quick -burst" strength of the fittings shall <br />not be less than that of the pipe. <br />2.02 INTERFERENCE WITH BUTTERFLY DISK VALVE <br />A. For HDPE pipe, if the size of the butterfly valve's disk interferes with the inside <br />diameter of the pipe, the Contractor may at his option either remove by machining <br />excess material from the ID of the pipe flange adapter or use a flange adapter with <br />a thickness that will allow the valve to clear the pipe. <br />2.03 BOLTS <br />A. Unless otherwise indicated, bolts and nuts unless otherwise indicated, shall be <br />CAD or zink plated A325. <br />B.
