A. Teflon pipe compound specifically made for stainless steel threaded connections <br />shall be used by the Contractor for all threaded joints. <br />2.05 POLYVFNYL CHLORIDE (PVC) PIPE AND FITTINGS <br />A. PVC piping shall conform with the requirements of ASTM D-1784-86 and the <br />Standard Specifications. <br />B. All PVC pipe used in the construction of the gas system shall be Schedule 80 <br />unless otherwise shown on the drawings. <br />C. Pipe shall be homogeneous throughout and shall be free from cracks, holes, <br />foreign inclusions, and other defects. No white PVC pipe will be allowed. All <br />PVC piping shall be gray SCH 80. <br />D. Contractor shall solvent weld PVC pipe in compliance with the manufacturer's <br />recommended procedure. <br />E. Solvent cement shall be Weld -on P2711 low VOC PVC cement with a minimum <br />drying time as recommended by the manufacturer or equivalent. <br />F. Pipe primer shall be Weld on P70 purple primer, or equivalent. <br />G. No odd pipe size shall be used; (i.e., 2-1/2, 5, etc.) except when specified <br />otherwise on the drawings or provided on purchased equipment where normal <br />pipe size is not available. <br />H. Piping smaller than 2 inches may have screwed connections except where <br />specified otherwise on the drawings. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 INSTALLATION <br />A. Flange alignment shall be perpendicular to pipe center line and shall not exceed <br />plus or minus 1/32 of an inch in tolerance measured at the outer edge of the flange <br />O.D. <br />B.
