Connections in the pipe as shown on the Contract Drawings shall be made by using tees, thread -o -lets or couplings and necessary plugs shall be inserted by the Contractor. D. Pipe cutting shall be done only with mechanical cutters. E. Pipes shall be supported independently at the pumps, tanks, and similar locations and such that the weight of pipe is not supported by the equipment. F. Pipe and fittings shall be selected so that there will be as small a deviation as possible at the joints and so that inverts present a smooth surface. Pipe and fittings which do not fit together to form a tight fitting joint will be rejected. G. Flanges shall be installed with full -face flange gaskets. 3.02 WEATHER RESTRICTIONS A. PVC pipe shall not be primed or solvent welded when it is raining or when atmospheric temperature is below 40 deg. F or above 90 deg. F when under direct exposure to the sun. 3.03 GENERAL PIPE INSTALLATION A. Flange alignment shall be perpendicular to pipe center line and shall not exceed plus or minus 1/32 of an inch in tolerance measured at the flange O.D. B. Bolts and nuts shall be easily accessible for installation and tightening. C. Pipe cutting shall be done with mechanical cutters. D. Metal pipe unions shall be ground joint type. E. When mating to a piece of equipment with a flat -face flange, the corresponding pipe flange shall also be flat faced. Otherwise, all flanges shall be raised face. F. Pipes shall be supported independently at the pumps, coils, tanks, and similar locations and such that the weight of pipe is not supported by the equipment. G. Pipes shall. be supported and anchored to maintain alignment.
