Regulators, valves, pressure gauges, hoses, and other items that may be damaged <br />by pressure testing shall be removed or disconnected from the pipes for the <br />duration of the test. <br />D. Pipe Flushing <br />1. The Contractor shall flush HDPE pipe to remove shavings. Flushing shall be in <br />the presence of the Engineer. Contractor shall ask the Engineer to mark flushed <br />pipe as verified. <br />2. The HDPE header shall be flushed <br />4.01 MEASUREMENT <br />A. Measurement will be made along the means chord of pipe after the pipe has been <br />installed. <br />4.02 PAYMENT <br />A. Payment for 12 -inch HDPE pipe will be based on the unit price per linear foot for <br />12 -inch HDPE pipe as identified in the proposal. Payment shall include all pipe, <br />fittings, monitoring ports, and pipe guides. Payment shall be made at the contract <br />unit price for actual quantity installed to the nearest two -foot station. Trenching <br />and/or earthwork are not included in this bid item. Payment shall be full <br />compensation for labor, materials, tools, equipment, overhead, and other work and <br />incidentals necessary to complete the work of this Section. Payment for <br />furnishing and installing 12 -inch HDPE Pipe will be by unit price per linear foot <br />quoted in the bid schedule. Unless authorized by the Owner, the quantity paid <br />shall not exceed the amount shown on the proposal. <br />B. Payment for 6 -inch HDPE pipe will be based on the unit price per linear foot for <br />6 -inch HDPE pipe as identified in the proposal. Payment shall include all pipe, <br />fittings, monitoring ports, and pipe guides.
