SECTION 15100 <br />VALVES <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SUBMITTALS <br />A. The Contractor shall submit documents for any proposed substitution in <br />accordance with Section 01300, "Submittals". <br />A. The Contractor shall assign to the County the warranties of the <br />manufacturers of any of the valves used. <br />PART 2 MATERIALS <br />2.01 BUTTERFLY VALVES <br />A. Unless otherwise specified, butterfly valves used in the landfill gas <br />collection system shall be 150 lb. flat -faced flanged UV treated PVC <br />butterfly valves with polypropylene disk, 316 stainless steel stem, and <br />Viton liner or approved equal. No white PVC valves will be allowed. <br />B. Bolting for valves installed above grade shall be zinc plated. Bolts for <br />buried valves shall be 316 SS. <br />C. Unless specified otherwise on valve data sheets or on the Drawings, <br />butterfly valves greater than 4 inches shall have a gear operator and valves <br />4 inches and less shall have a 10 position locking handle. <br />D. Unless otherwise specified, butterfly valves installed in the field shall be <br />Asahi, GF+, or approved equal valves with PVC Body, PP Disk, and Viton <br />seat and seals. <br />E. Valves and gear operators shall be right hand close. <br />A. PVC ball valves shall be 150 lb. rated at 73°F socket type with a SS stem, <br />Viton 0 -rings and Teflon seats.
