D <br />4. Rejected fill material shall be deposited in the landfill by the Contractor. <br />1 2.03 CLEAN FILL <br />C <br />A. Clean fill material is available on site for the Contractor's use. The Contractor <br />shall be responsible for removing all cobbles and stones greater than 1" from the <br />backfill material. <br />2.04 PIPE BEDDING <br />A. Pipe Bedding Material shall be sand as shown on the drawings. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 GENERAL <br />A. Contractor is responsible for the finished condition of his work. Before working <br />over backfill or similar work of other contractors, verify that such work has been <br />properly backfilled and compacted Notify the County promptly in writing if any <br />Iconditions exist which are contrary to requirements. <br />B. The Contractor shall restore street pavements, walks, curbs, gutters, trees, <br />shrubbery, landscaping, etc., that may be damaged in the performance of work <br />under this section, in a manner prescribed by authorities having jurisdiction. <br />3.02 CONTROL OF WATER <br />A. Control drainage in the vicinity of the Work to prevent water from accumulating <br />or running into the excavation or into adjacent property. Provide any shoring and <br />bulk -heading necessary to hold the earth back. Keep excavations and trenches <br />free from excess water. <br />B. The Contractor shall provide and maintain at all times during construction ample <br />means and devices with which to promptly remove and properly dispose of all <br />water from any source entering the excavations or other parts of the Work. <br />Dewatering shall be accomplished by methods which will ensure a dry excavation <br />and preservation of the final lines and grades of the bottoms of excavations. <br />North County LFG Collection System 3 TRENCHING AND EXCAVATION <br />San Joaquin County Public Works Section 02225 <br />
