Request inspection by County Building Department two days prior <br />to intended pour. Do not pour until County has accepted forms and rebar <br />as acceptable. <br />B. The Contractor shall form and position the reinforcements accurately. <br />Reinforcements shall be cleaned thoroughly and maintained in proper <br />position during placement of concrete. Kinked bars shall not be used. <br />C. When air temperature is above 85 degrees F., the Contractor shall place <br />concrete in compliance with ACI 305 and as specified herein and shall <br />keep subgrade moist prior to placing concrete. <br />D. The Contractor shall use templates to accurately position anchor bolts <br />when practical and shall use plastic inserts on anchor bolts to provide a <br />clear space around the upper part of the anchor bolt for alignment with <br />pre -drilled holes in equipment if templates are not used. <br />3.02 APPLICATION <br />A. Do not place concrete if ambient temperature is below 40°F. <br />B. The Contractor shall convey and, place concrete by methods which will <br />prevent the separation or loss of the ingredients. The Contractor shall <br />place concrete around all reinforcements and embeds and into the corners <br />of the forms. <br />C. The Contractor shall place concrete within 1 1/2 hour after mix has been <br />prepared. When the air temperature exceeds 85 degrees F, the time shall <br />be reduced to 45 minutes. <br />D. The Contractor shall densify concrete thoroughly with immersion -type <br />vibrators. Two vibrators shall be on site during concrete placement. <br />Densification shall be performed within 15 minutes of placement. <br />E. When using a chute, the Contractor shall provide equipment that will <br />ensure continuous flow. The discharge end of the chute shall have a baffle <br />plate to prevent segregation. <br />F. The Contractor shall not drop concrete from the end of the chute at a <br />distance greater than 3 times the vertical thickness of the layer being <br />placed with a maximum distance of 5 feet. <br />North County LFG Collection System 3 CONCRETE <br />San Joaquin County Public Works Section 03302 <br />
