Contractor shall store paint inside and shall protect it against freezing. No <br />adulterant, unauthorized thinner, or other material not included in the paint <br />formulation shall be added to the paint for any purpose. Paint shall conform <br />to the applicable air quality regulations at the point of application. Any paint <br />material which cannot be guaranteed by the manufacturer to comply, <br />whether specified by products designation or not, shall not be used. It shall <br />be the responsibility of the Contractor to ensure the compatibility of the field <br />painting products which will be in contact with each other or which will be <br />applied over shop painted or previously painted surfaces. <br />D. Paint used in successive field coats shall be produced by the same <br />manufacturer. <br />E. Paint used in the first field coat over shop painted or previously painted <br />surfaces shall cause no wrinkling, lifting, or other damage to underlying <br />paint. <br />A. Contractor shall submit paints and paint manufacturers' recommended <br />procedure for application. <br />B. The Contractor shall submit paint color chips and paint specifications for <br />the Engineer's review and approval. <br />C. The Contractor shall submit paint manufacturer's recommended thickness <br />for the paint applied. <br />PART 2 MATERIALS <br />2.01 PAINT <br />A. Whenever a coating is specified by using the name of a proprietary product <br />or the name of a particular manufacturer or vendor, the specified coating <br />shall be understood as establishing the type and quality of coating desired. <br />Contractors may submit other manufacturers' products provided sufficient <br />information is submitted for review in accordance with the submittals <br />section. <br />In addition to the products named herein, equivalent products of the <br />following manufacturers will also be acceptable: <br />Carboline <br />PPG(Pittsburgh) <br />Devoe <br />Rust-Oleum <br />Glidden <br />Sherwin-Williams <br />MAB <br />Valspar <br />Poter <br />Ameron <br />North County LFG Collection System 2 <br />San Joaquin County Public Works <br />PAINTING <br />Section 09900 <br />
