At this time,approximately four vehicles can be served at once on the present paved pad. Increasing the wood waste area can be easily accomplished, and will increase the wood waste receiving rate. 5 The size of the active face is not restricted by physical limitation of an enclosing structure or paved area, and can be increased as needed. PROPOSED TRAFFIC PROCESSING IMPROVEMENTS Although the present maximum theoretical site traffic capacity exceeds the proposed new incoming refuse vehicle limit, it is prudent to consider improvements to the site traffic processing capacity. Two increments of site improvements are considered: interim and long-term. Proposed traffic-processing improvements are focused on increasing capacity of self-haul processing, which is presently constrained by the size of the MRF building. Other improvements are also considered. The wood waste processing area and active face are open-air activities and can be improved with little difficulty. Based on this analysis, the improvements considered below can increase the theoretical maximum incoming refuse vehicle capacity of the site to over 1,600 incoming refuse vehicles per day. Improvements are tentative, and may be adjusted according to site needs. Improvements will be implemented gradually, as the demand for capacity increases.
