v
6.8.12 Odor Nuisance Control
As discussed in Section6.4 and 6.8, waste is covered with daily cover and intermediate cover to
control nuisances including odor. The County also reserves the right to refuse loads that, in their
opinion, will cause unwanted operating problems such as odors.
Public odor complaints may be submitted to the County via mail, telephone, email, or fax.
Telephone calls are directed to the landfill's on -duty supervisor. If the citizen desires to generate
a record of complaint, they can prepare a written complaint that will be kept on file at the County.
The County investigates each complaint and, if appropriate, takes the necessary corrective
action. The County responds to each complaint either via telephone or mail.
North County RC&SL
Joint Technical Document
Page 50 of 69 Public Works/Solid Waste
County of San Joaquin — February 10, 2010
