CORRAL HOLLOW SANITARY LANDFILL
FINAL CLOSURE PLAN - REVISED FEBRUARY, 1995
4.0 LANDFILL GAS MONITORING AND CONTROL
A landfill gas monitoring system has been installed as of February,
1995. The monitoring system will be monitored quarterly as
required. If monitoring of the landfill gas monitoring system
indicates that methane levels are above specified limits, a control
system will be installed. However, this would occur only after
sufficient verification as determined by the LEA and the Board.
Monitoring of system during closure $100,000
5.0 LEACHATE CONTROL MEASURES
Due to the conditions mentioned in section 13 of the Final Closure
Plan, a leachate control system is not feasible or necessary and
will not be installed at the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill.
Therefore, no cost estimate is included in this report.
6.0 GROUNDWATER MONITORING SYSTEM
The groundwater monitoring system is already in place at the Corral
Hollow Sanitary Landfill. It consists of one upgradient deep
aquifer monitoring well, two deep downgradient wells, and three
shallow aquifer wells. No additions to the system or additional
costs are anticipated through the closure period. Ground Water and
Surface Water will be monitored throughout the closure period
according to Waste Discharge Requirements (#94-259) issued by the
California Regional Water Quality Control Board in September, 1994.
The cost below for monitoring is estimated for a 6 month closure
period.
COST - Assume 6 month closure period $9,000
i
t20
