substitutions are requested as provided herein, no such deviations from the <br />Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications will be permitted. <br />D. Requests for substitutions will be considered only when offered by the Contractor as <br />follows: <br />1. Submit complete technical data, including drawings; complete performance <br />specifications, provide test data and perform tests as may be required by the <br />Engineer; submit samples of the article proposed for substitution, as applicable. <br />2. Submit comparative data of material, equipment, or system to be replaced by <br />proposed substitution. <br />3. If value engineering is involved in the Contractor's request or proposal for <br />substitution, the amount to be credited to the County or deducted from the <br />Contract Price, if the proposed substitution is accepted, shall be submitted along <br />with a comparative cost breakdown. <br />4. Include a statement in the transmittal letter, signed by the Contractor, that the <br />proposed substitution is in full conformance with the Contract Documents. <br />5. All requests for substitutions, along with required information and exhibits, <br />Shall be submitted to the Engineer in accordance with Section 01300. <br />6. Requests for substitutions shall contain not less than the following information <br />in the heading or subject to the transmittal letter: <br />a. Project Title or Number. <br />b. Subject (Unit or Division of Work). <br />c. Construction Drawings and Technical Specification References: Drawing <br />Number and Detail; Specification Section, Article, Paragraph, <br />' Subparagraph. <br />E. In the analysis of a proposed substitution for conformance with Technical <br />Specifications, Construction Drawings, and design factors of the Project, <br />consideration will be given to the service, performance, and maintenance experience <br />of all elements of the proposed substitution. To this end, the Engineer may require <br />prompt advice or not less than three (3) readily accessible, comparable installations <br />of the item proposed for substitution, made within the past 5 years. <br />F.
