Wheel roll the to surface of all stockpiles, or otherwise provide with a smooth <br />p P <br />surface to promote run-off and minimize ponding. <br />3.08 SUBGRADE PREPARATION FOR LINER AREAS TO RECEIVE GEOMEMBRANE <br />COVER <br />A. Comply with pertinent provisions of related sections and referenced specifications. <br />B. Soil materials exposed at subgrade elevations as shown on the Construction <br />Drawings in the landfill cap extension area shall be scarified to a minimum depth of <br />6 inches, processed if necessary to meet these specifications, moisture conditioned, <br />and recompacted to the density and moisture requirements of Table 02200-2. <br />C. Contractor shall prepare the top surface of the subgrade layer preparation areas for <br />geomembrane cover using the following techniques or a method approved by the <br />Engineer. <br />1. Moisture condition and smooth drum roll surfaces. <br />2. Remove rock, aggregations, debris, cracks, or other structural irregularities that <br />protrude '/2 inch or more above the prepared surface. Ruts and depressions in <br />excess of 3/4 -inch depth shall be filled with compacted soil. The finished <br />surface shall be free from abrupt breaks, sharp objects, or other foreign <br />material that may inhibit placement of the geomembrane cover. All <br />construction stakes, hubs, or other items used for grade control shall be <br />removed and the void with processed material. The subgrade shall be <br />unyielding, smooth, and uniform <br />D. Prepared surfaces will be inspected by the Engineer prior to placement of overlying <br />geomembrane cover. Place geomembrane cover after approval by the Engineer. <br />3.09 EARTHFILL CONSTRUCTION <br />A. General Requirements: <br />1. Earthfill materials shall be placed and compacted to the lines and grades shown <br />on the Construction Drawings. <br />2. If any portion of the materials placed as fill does not meet the specified <br />requirements, the Contractor shall remove such material and replace it with fill <br />materials meeting the Specifications at no additional cost to the County. <br />3. Constructed fills shall be maintained to meet the requirements of this <br />Specification until final completion and acceptance of the work. This shall <br />include all measures to prevent erosion.
