Soils with a high sand <br /> content will not be used due to their susceptibility to erosion and desiccation. The vegetative <br /> layer will be at least one-foot thick and will be compacted to a density of 80 to 85 percent. <br /> Higher levels of compaction will not be 4ccepted since the growth of vegetation may be <br /> inhibited. The plant seed shall be applied as soon as possible after completion of the <br /> vegetative layer or a section of the vegetative layer. <br /> 6.3 Results from Test Pad <br /> Kleinfelder evaluated the data from testing and developed minimum specifications for the <br /> construction of the barrier layer.
