are equipped with dedicated purge and sampling pumps. A copy
of groundwater wells as-built drawings is in Appendix G.
Two additional wells are required by the WDR Order No.
R5-2009-0049, but have not been installed by the issue date of
this PCMP. One additional well will be installed between the
secondary site and the migrant labor facility ponds to provide
adequate up-gradient information for existing well MW-4. The
second additional well will be installed sufficiently far from the
landfill to provide up-gradient information regarding carbonate and
bicarbonate concentrations in groundwater, when the groundwater
is not affected by carbon dioxide from landfill gas.
5.1.A.2 Monitoring Method and Procedure
The groundwater is sampled in accordance with the sampling
procedure in Appendix D.
5.1.A.3 Monitoring Frequency
t
Groundwater samples are analyzed quarterly for parameters per
the WDR's. Soil gas samples are taken from selected monitoring
points semi-annually.
5.1.B Surface Water and Storm Water
5.1.6.1 Monitoring Description
Two monitoring points for surface water and storm water has been
established named S-1 (upstream) and monitoring point S-2
(downstream) of the landfill (Figure 4).
5.1.13.2 Monitoring Method and Procedure
During precipitation season, SWD visually inspects HLSL for any
discharge. If a discharge is noticed, discharge samples are
collected and sent to a certified lab for analysis per the WDR. The
quarterly ground water reports will include the results of the
analysis.
Postclosure Maintenance Plan San Joaquin County
Harney Lane Sanitary landfill 4 Department of Public Works
Revised July 30,2009 Solid Waste Division
