LFG Piping and Extraction Wells
1. Inspection date, time, and name of monitoring personnel.
2. Meteorological conditions during inspection.
3. LFG flow rate at the flare before and after adjustment
4. Field vacuum before and after adjustment.
5. LFG temperature at each extraction well and monitoring points.
6. Methane, oxygen and carbon dioxide gas concentrations of each
extraction well and monitoring wells.
7. Vacuum of each extraction well before and after adjustment.
Adjustment of each well's vacuum is based on methane content and
perimeter migration monitoring well data.
Surface Emissions
HLSL surface is monitored for surface emissions semi-annually in
accordance with the SJVAPCD permit, or annually if two surface emissions
monitoring events show the landfill to be in compliance. Currently surface
emission at HLSL is monitored annually per the surface emission protocol
(Attached).
2.2 MAINTENANCE
Maintenance activities are scheduled in accordance with manufacturer's
specifications presented in HLSL's flare system O&M manual. A copy of
the manual is stored at the flare station, storage closet and is available upon
request.
Typical maintenance activities of the LFGCS include:
Flare Station
1. Cleaning of flame arresters (as needed)
2. Rotation of active/inactive blowers (Monthly)
3. Lubrication of blower and drive motor bearings (Monthly)
4. Adjustments of the blower belts (as needed)
5. Replacement of empty pilot fuel tanks (if any)
6.
