1.3 Monitoring Well Design • Well casing diameter:4" • Centralizer spacing: N/A • Borehole diameter: 10" • Construction materials:Schedule 40 PVC • Above ground completion with stove pipe and bollards • Type of well cap,bottom cap:Top-locking; Bottom-threaded • Size of perforations:0.010-inch • Grain size of sand pack and rationale: 2/16 Monterey Sand based on fine grained content of saturated materials • Thickness and position of bentonite seal and sand pack: Sand - top of pack 48 ft bgs, bentonite-top of sand,3 ft thick • Depth of well and position of perforated interval: Total depth - 70 ft, perforated interval-50-70 ft bgs • Length of screen:20 ft (0.010-inch) • Further details are illustrated in construction diagrams in Appendix B. 1.4 Well Development • Development:surge, bail,and pump method. • Completion determination:When all parameters have been stabilized. • Monitored Parameters during development: Turbidity, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen,specific conductivity. • Water storage and disposal containerization:55-gal DOT approved drums. 1.5 Monitoring Well Survey • A licensed land surveyor located in Stockton, California,will survey the newly installed monitoring well upon completion. • Features to be surveyed:northing,easting,and top of casing. • Vertical accuracy will be measured to at least 0.01 foot. 1.6 Well Sampling • Monitoring well will not be sampled until 48-hours after the well has been developed. • Well purging method and amount of purge water: low flow in accordance with US EPA document titled Low-Flow (Minimal Drawdown) Ground-Water Sampling Procedures (EPA/540/S-95/504). • Monitoring well samples will be analyzed and evaluated as seen in Table 1 attached. • QA/QC procedures will include: trip blanks, temperature blanks and laboratory QA/QC samples. 2 Well Installation Workplan Stockton,Ca Cove Contractors,Inc.
