s6-0301
Resolution No.
STOCKTON CITY COUNCIL
WHEREAS, on April 11, 1977 (Resolution No. 34 , 042) , the
City Council designated the San Joaquin Local Health District as the
Local Enforcement Agency ("LEA ") for the solid waste program for
the City of Stockton; and
WHEREAS, on July 1, 1989, the Health District merged with
the County and became known as San Joaquin County Public Health
Serrices ("SJCPHS"); and
WHEREAS, on February 24, 1992, the City Council reaffirmed
its original designation of SJCPHS as LEA for the solid waste
program for the City of Stockton; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated the City could, -cut its annual LEA
costs for the City landfills by up to 43 percent (about $45,000) by
switching from SJCPHS to California Integrated Waste Management
Board ("CIW-MB") for LEA services; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED By THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF STOCKTON, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Council hereby withdraws the
designation of San Joaquin County Public Health Services as the City
of Stockton's current LEA for the solid waste program. No new local
agency will be designated to replace San Joaquin County Public
Health Services. The California Integrated Waste Management Board
will then become the LEA for the solid waste program within the City
of Stockton.
2.
