Independent Trucking Co. Inc.
Page No. 3
Section 17482 - Entry Signs
The entry sign must include either a list of materials accepted
or not accepted at this facility.
Section 17514 - Parking
Parking facilities for transfer vehicles was inadequate. I
observed transfer vehicles parked along the street (north of the
station facility). This standard states that "adequate off-
street parking facilities for transfer vehicles shall be
provided".
Section17452- General Design Parameters
Considering the volume of waste and the permitted area of this
facility, it does not appear to accommodate the entire operation
of the facility. I observed four trailers loaded with recyclable
materials and approximately four container bins that had garbage
in them, located immediately west of the facility boundary. Some
of the bins were vandalized due to lack of security fence.
Section 17485 - Visual Screening
Since most of the processing operations are conducted outside the
station building, appropriate visual screening is needed on areas
open to public view (along the northern and southern sides•of the
property). This section states that "the station shall have
appropriate treatment of areas open to public view to create and
maintain an attractive and aesthetically acceptable appearance".
Section 17512 - Cleaning
I observed one container bin that had waste in it, as shown in
slides 1-13 and 1-14, located east of the transformer area. This
section states that "each station handling an average volume of
over 100 cubic yards of waste per day shall be cleaned daily of
all loose materials and litter, or on a schedule approved by the
LEA".
I observed broken glasses scattered in the north entrance of
the property (west of the station building), as shown in slides
aste Management Npecialig-t
