Alternate Work Program (AWP). AWP workers per shift will vary generally from
2 to 10.
b. Training
The work rules for Station employees are in Appendix F.
C. Emergency Contact List
The County office phone contact during business hours for administrative matters is
(209)468-3066. The phone number for the Station is (209)982-5770. After business
hours, the County Department of Public Works (CDPW) emergency phone number
is (209)468-3000. During an emergency, personnel at these numbers or the after
hours CDPW dispatcher will be able to direct callers to the current appropriate
emergency contacts for the Station.
d. Operator
The organizational chart for San Joaquin County Department of Public Works, Solid
Waste Management Division; which will be responsible for management and
operation of the Station, is in Appendix H. The Department of Public works has
been responsible for management and operation of the Station since 1974.
3. Station Equipment
a. Type, Capacity and number of units
Transfer Trailers:
The tonnages which will be transferred will determine the amount of transfer trucks
required for the Station. The tonnages to be transferred will also depend upon the
amount which is diverted from transfer through on-site recycling activities. The
County intends to initially perform hand sorting and loader segregation of recyclables
on the tipping floor for off-loading to bins at the south end of the Transfer Building.
This may be augmented in the future by mechanized equipment and increased sorters
to increase the percentage of diversion.
Appendix B contains a series of Tables III.C.3.a; titled for various hypothetical
diversion percentages for the Station. The lowest is 5% and the highest is 50%. The
lower range of diversion rates (5% to 15%) are expected to be potentially achieved
during initial operations after the Station is expanded. It is unknown what exact
diversion will be realized, however, initially 5% to 15% is estimated from the tipping
floor hand sorting proposed. This could be increased to 25'V, d
equipment a Drawing RSI-6 includes a Table with projections of average
daily tonnages to be transferred for the years 1995 and 2010 under an initial average
10% diversion rate for the Station. However, the design of transfer truck parking
was based on diversion numbers which would result in the highest transfer
0754900I.012 30 September 23,1993
