5.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM <br /> 5.1 Sanitary Facilities <br /> Describe sanitary facilities for the facility personnel available at the facility or in <br /> the immediate vicinity(14 CCR 17491). <br /> Portable toilets are provided and serviced twice a week. A total of seven portable toilets <br /> are at the site. Two handicap-accessible portable toilets are located adjacent to the <br /> landfill office, two are located at the RRF, one is in the maintenance yard, one is located <br /> near the Eastern ash disposal pit and one is located on the bin storage pad. Hand <br /> washing facilities are located in, or near, each portable toilet and an additional facility <br /> is near the landfill office trailer. <br /> 5.2 Water Supply <br /> Describe the source of potable water and the location where drinking water is <br /> available to the facility personnel. <br /> Bottled water is provided for drinking. <br /> Water for site operations is supplied by two on site production wells: a 1,000- <br /> gpm well near the landfill entrance facilities and a 20-gpm well near the RRF building. <br /> An approximate 8,000-gallon water tank will be located in the South area. Water uses <br /> include site construction and waste disposal operations, RRF operations, compost <br /> process water, dust control, equipment maintenance operations, sanitary facilities, fire <br /> fighting, and emergency situations. <br /> 5.3 Communications Facilities <br /> Describe communications facilities available to facility personnel. <br /> Pacific Bell provides telephone service to the site. The site offices and vehicles used for <br /> site operations are equipped with phones. The site has telephone lines for both business <br /> and emergency use. <br /> 5.4 Lighting <br /> if operations are to be conducted at night, describe provisions for providing the facility <br /> and/or equipment with adequate lighting as approved by the LEA to ensure safety, to <br /> permit monitoring effectiveness of cleaning operations, and for inspection of loaded vehicles. <br /> PG&E provides the primary electric service to the site. Electric power is provided to the office <br /> trailers and on site pumping facilities.
