Unsaturated oily rags may be sent to a laundry facility . <br /> f. Storage and labeling — unsaturated oily debris for waste disposal should be kept in a <br /> separate container with a non- hazardous label with accumulation start date and marked <br /> " Non - hazardous Waste — Unsaturated Oily Debris and Soil" . As good management <br /> practice, unsaturated oily rags stored for reuse should be kept in a drum marked " Oily <br /> Rags — Unsaturated" . <br /> g . Shipping papers — a manifest is not required for non - hazardous waste . A Bill of Lading, non - <br /> hazardous waste manifest, or other shipping papers is required if the waste is shipped to <br /> a waste facility specifically designated for this type of waste, such as Class II landfill . <br /> h . Transport and Disposal — If the hydrocarbon -contaminated debris is considered non- <br /> hazardous waste, it may still not be allowed to be sent to a regular landfill and disposal <br /> restrictions may apply, such as disposal in a Class II landfill . The waste disposal facility <br /> should be contacted for specific disposal requirements . Records ( i . e . , shipping papers ) <br /> should be kept showing the disposal method . <br /> 13 . Hydrocarbon -contaminated debris and rags — Saturated — dispose of with solid hazardous waste . <br /> 14 . Lamps — Universal Waste <br /> a . Intact, unbroken bulb or tube portions of electric devices that contain mercury, sodium <br /> and other hazardous constituents above regulatory thresholds can be managed as <br /> Universal Waste . They include ; fluorescent, high - intensity discharge, neon, mercury vapor, <br /> high pressure sodium and metal halide lamps . <br /> b . Broken lamps ; the recycling facility must be contacted regarding handling of broken lamps . <br /> If the recycling facility cannot accept broken tubes, the waste becomes hazardous waste . <br /> c . Storage container must prevent breakage and be compatible with the contents of the <br /> lamp . <br /> d . Label the container with a Universal Waste label with accumulation time with the phrase <br /> " Universal Waste - Lamps" . <br /> e . Shipping papers — universal wastes are exempt from hazardous waste manifesting <br /> requirements . A Bill of Lading is required instead . <br /> f.
