S Process Hazardous Waste Management <br /> stk- EHS- POL-015 . c <br /> When transferring material from an SAA to a WAA, you can either place the SAA container in the WAA, or <br /> you can transfer material from the SAA container into the WAA container ( receiving container) . Follow <br /> these procedures : <br /> If placing SAA container to WAA : <br /> PPE — no additional PPE required . Wear Level D PPE, consisting of either the standard duty uniform or <br /> standard laboratory PPE . <br /> Equipment — no additional equipment required <br /> Procedure : <br /> • Identify the appropriate WAA based on the properties of the waste ( i . e . , flammable WAA, acids <br /> WAA . Etc ) <br /> • Ensure that there is enough space in the WAA <br /> • Ensure that no incompatible wastes will be stored in the same cabinet or in the secondary <br /> container <br /> • Place the container in the WAA; the container must be placed inside a secondary containment <br /> tray <br /> • Complete recordkeeping procedures ( See Recordkeeping ) <br /> If transferring material from SAA container into WAA container : <br /> PPE <br /> • neoprene gloves over nitrile gloves <br /> • chemical goggles, approved safety glasses or a splash shield . ( if full face respirator is used , <br /> chemical goggles are not used ) <br /> • chemical resistant apron <br /> • Respirators may be required .
