MAR Eta 'BB 22:39 EXCEL tiH/SF P.5
Econo Station EXCELTECH March 6, 1988
Page Project No. 2419D
Pump test discharge water was directed into two, 21 thousand gallon
temporary storage tanks, treated utilizing activated carbon, and discharged
intc' a sanitary sewer under permit by the City of Stockton, Municipal
Utilities Department. Discharge flow was controlled and metered during
each test by utilizing a flow meter and piping array. The system was
designed to mimimize air cavitaiinn and turbulent flow in the discharge
during pumping. See-through King Instrument K72 series flow meters were
used to observe and accurately meter (+/- 0.1 gpm) flow throughout the
tests.
Tes!ing and mathematical analysis of aquifers relies on formulas and
assumptions developed by C.V. Theis (1935) and later commonly recognized
methods. The implied assumptions Liherent for analysis, in these particular
tests, were as follows:
1. The aquifer is homogeneous, isotropic, of uniform thickness, and of
infinite areal extent.
2. The initial piezometric surface is horizontal.
3. The well is pumped at a constant -discharge rate.
4. The pumped well penetrates and receives water from the full
thickness of the water -bearing formation.
5. Well storage can be neglected.
6. Water removed from storage is discharged instantaneously with a
decline of head.
7. The aquifer receives no recharge from any source.
