and Sidewalks" of the Standard Specifications and these Special <br /> Provisions. <br /> Concrete: Portland cement concrete shall be Class "B" <br /> conforming to Section 90 of the Standard Specifications with a <br /> minimum compressive strength of 2000 psi . at 28 days. <br /> All concrete used shall be mixed completely in a truck mixer, <br /> commonly known in the industry as "transit-mixed concrete." <br /> Forms: Forming requirements shall conform to the provisions in <br /> Section 73-1.04 "Forms" of the Standard Specifications. If clean, <br /> neat lines can be cut, the Contractor may pour against undisturbed <br /> earth with prior approval by the Engineer. If any sloughing or <br /> caving of material occurs, both front and back forms may be <br /> required. <br /> Forms shall be true to lines and grades as shown on the plans. <br /> Forms previously used shall be thoroughly cleaned before re-use. <br /> Before concrete is placed within any form, all inside surfaces of <br /> the forms shall be thoroughly coated with an approved oil . <br /> All forms shall be free of any foreign material previous to <br /> placing concrete. <br /> Concrete Reinforcement: Mesh and reinforcing steel shall <br /> conform to the provisions in Section 52-1.02 "Materials" of the <br /> Standard Specifications. <br /> All reinforcing steel shall be accurately placed as shown on the <br /> plans. <br /> All reinforcement shall be cleaned of dirt, rust, grease, loose <br /> scale and any other substance that may prevent concrete bonding. <br /> All reinforcement shall be securely positioned and supported so as <br /> to maintain the proper position during placement of concrete. <br /> Concrete Placement: Concrete shall not be placed without <br /> approval of the Engineer. Placing concrete without notifying the <br /> Engineer may be reason for rejection of the work. <br /> Prior to placing concrete the subgrade and inside face of the , <br /> forms shall be thoroughly wetted as the Engineer may direct. <br /> Concrete shall not be deposited when it appears likely that the <br /> air temperature may fall below 40° F. during the placing of <br /> concrete or within the following 24 hours, unless special approval <br /> has been received from the Engineer prior to placing of concrete. <br /> Concrete which, in the opinion of the Engineer, has been damaged <br /> by freezing shall be removed and replaced. <br /> 6.10 <br /> TANK6/TXTW.02M <br />
