26 May 1998 <br /> AGE-NC Protect No 96-0266 <br /> ' Page 6 of 9 <br /> 34 WELL SURVEY <br /> A well suney was conducted during this quarter to gather information regarding the location and <br /> ' use of municipal, domestic and agricultural wells within 2000 feet of the site No California Water <br /> Service Cit f Stockton or private wells were observed within 2000 feet of the site Other <br /> California Water Service wells were noted to the north, west and east of the site approximately 3 750 <br /> ' to 4000 feet away <br /> 3 5 SOIL DISPOSAL <br /> On 26 March 1998, approximately 3 cubic yards of stockpiled soil was transported to Forward <br /> Incorporated located in Manteca,California Soil generated during the installation of the soil borings <br /> and wells was stockpiled on the site, along with a minor quantity of soil from the lowest portion of <br /> ' the East UST removal Soil was loaded into a transport vehicle and hauled off the site to Forward <br /> by AGE A copy the disposal certificates is included in Appendix D <br /> 4 0 FINDINGS <br /> 41 STRATIGRAPHY <br /> In the general area of the West UST,tan and brown, silty clay was encountered from surface grade <br /> ' to depths of approximately ten feet bsg,and coarse sand to gravel was encountered at depths between <br /> 15 and 20 feet bsg <br /> ' In the area of the East UST area and towards the north,tan and brown, silty clay was encountered <br /> from surface grade to depths of approximately 10 feet bsg and a gray silty clay was encountered <br /> between 10 and 20 feet bsg Tan, coarse sand was encountered at 20 feet bsg The soil boring logs <br /> ' are included in Appendix A <br /> ' 4 2 RELATIVE GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT <br /> The relative elevation of ground water in each well was calculated by subtracting the ground water <br /> depth from the surveyed relative casing elevation The wells were surveyed i elative to the top of well <br /> MW-1 The relative ground water elevation data is summarized in Table 1 <br /> ' Ground water flow direction at the site was generally toward the northeast at a gradient of <br /> • approximately 0 0005 ft/ft A portion of the flow was directed southwest of well MW-1. the former <br /> 1 <br />
