' Community Health and Safety Plan <br /> RAINWATER CAR WASH,Manteca, California 95336 Page 17 <br /> May 30,2012 <br /> ' 7.2 Site Health and Safety Supervisor <br /> The SHSS is the individual located at the site who is responsible to AA&A and has the authority and knowledge <br /> ' necessary to implement this HSP and verify compliance with applicable safety and health requirements. In <br /> general,the SHSS is responsible for personnel at the site who are under the direction and control of AA&A. In <br /> addition,the SHSS is responsible for the following: <br /> ' • To observe personnel under the direction and control of AA&A as well as authorized visitors for <br /> indications of impaired health due to contaminant exposure,heat stress,or other hazards; <br /> • To evaluate whether site conditions present hazards not previously predicted or expected; <br /> ' • To inspect PPE and verify its use; <br /> • To assist the PM with on-site implementation of this HSP,including performing air monitoring, <br /> ' maintaining safety equipment supplies and setting up site control and decontamination stations; <br /> • To make daily assessments of health and safety practices at the site and administer the health and safety <br /> program outlined in this HSP; <br /> ' • To conduct the required tailgate safety meetings for all designated personnel permitted to enter the <br /> contaminated area(i.e.,the exclusion zone)regarding potential hazards,personal hygiene principles,PPE <br /> and emergency response procedures; <br /> ' • To investigate all accidents,health and safety complaints,and violations/infractions of safety rules and/or <br /> the requirements of this HSP and report findings to PM; <br /> • To inform the PM of all safety and health hazards at the site that pose a serious and/or imminent threat; <br /> and <br /> • To coordinate emergency response procedures and site evacuations. <br /> The SHSS will have authority to suspend work or modify work practices under the direction and control of <br /> AA&A for safety reasons and to dismiss individuals under the direction and control of AA&A whose conduct on- <br /> site endangers the health and safety of others. The SHSS will report directly to the PM. <br /> ' 8. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT <br /> The purpose of PPE is to isolate or protect personnel from the chemical and physical hazards that may be <br /> ' encountered at during site activities.The amount and type of PPE required will be based on the nature of the <br /> hazard encountered or anticipated. <br /> ' Personnel under the direction and control of AA&A will be provided with appropriate personal safety equipment <br /> and protective clothing as determined by the SHSS.In general,depending on the level of protection required by <br /> the SHSS for site operations,the following required PPE will be wom by all site personnel under the control and <br /> ' direction of the SHSS. <br /> 8.1 Level D Protection <br /> ' • Work shirt and long pants(short pants may be wom with the approval of the PM); <br /> • ANSI-approved steel-toed boots or safety shoes; <br /> ' • ANSI-approved safety glasses; and, <br /> ' • ANSI-approved hardhat. <br /> Ami Adini <br /> ' &Associatas,lnc. <br />
