-CAC SECTION OBSERVATIONS RESULT
17702 Animal Feeding. I did not see any evidence of ani-mal C
feeding on site.
17703 Fire Control . On 10728/86 1 observed smoke rising I
from cracks in the ground on the the
southeastern end of the site. This
entire area looked like it had been
recently burned. John Giambastiani,
the site supervisor, informed me a
county control burn had eliminated the
weeds in this area approximately a
month and a half ago.
I rechecked the area on 10/29/86 and
10/31/86 and it had been covered with
30-40 yd3 of earth. Future inspectors
should recheck the area for any further
evidence of fire. (See slides 1. 22-
1.24.
Note: I observed that this area felt
shaky and hollow when walked on. Future
inspectors should be especially cautions
of the unsound condition of this fill.
17704 Leachate I did not observe surface leachate at I
Control. this site.
Tim Crandall of the Regional Water
Quality Control Board (RWQCB) provided
the following information:
1) Four water monitoring wells were drilled
two months ago, but the analytical results
are not in. These wells should fulfill
Calderon requirements.
2) The on site gas recovery system
can generate a' maximum of 100 gallons
of condensate per day. The condensate
has a high solvent content and it is
currently pumped back into the fill.
There is a chance it may break through
to the water table.
3) This site has a Calderon Priority
Ranking of number two.
Future inspectors will need to review
completed Regional Water Quality Control
Board findings to determine compliance to
this section.
Page No. 9 of 14 Inspector :
